UCLA Health AYA

Who asked us to do what, and why?
UCLA Health sought our collaboration on a brand new guidebook to help empower young cancer patients. This project really meant something.
The UCLA Health Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program team is a collection of young cancer survivors who have been through so much from their initial diagnosis, living with cancer, and undergoing extensive treatments. What was missing? A supportive and informative guide for young people going through similar experiences with a very important message – you are not alone, and you can still live an extraordinary life.

What did we do?
Through several discussions with the UCLA Health AYA team, we sat back and listened to these inspirational people who shared what this guidebook should be and what it means. We utilized real patient images and experiences, combined with client-provided edited copy, to produce various design layout options for the team to review.
We refined the chosen design and delivered the final 120-page guidebook. We were humbled that the team was incredibly proud of the end product.
